From version 1.1 on, Logify estimates meals without an API key of your own – using Apple Intelligence. Requests are answered by Apple’s large language model on Private Cloud Compute, Apple’s servers.

Supported iPhones

  • iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • every model of the iPhone 16 line-up (including iPhone 16e)
  • all newer iPhones

Requirements

  • iOS 27 or later. AI without a key isn’t available on iOS 26.
  • Apple Intelligence is turned on: Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  • An internet connection – the estimate runs on Apple’s servers.
  • Your device language is supported by Apple Intelligence.

If you haven’t added an API key of your own, Logify uses Apple Intelligence automatically. You can change this in Logify under Settings → AI Model.

Text, voice and photos

With Apple Intelligence you can describe, say or photograph your meals – just like with your own API key. Follow-up questions and corrections in the chat (“only half of the fries”) work too.

Daily limit

Apple – not Logify – sets how many requests are possible per day for each iCloud account. With iCloud+, the limit is higher. When it’s running low, Logify shows a note above the input field; under Settings → AI Model you can always see where you stand and open Apple’s options via “Raise limit”. The next day, it starts over.

Privacy

According to Apple, requests are not stored, and independent experts can verify this. Logify doesn’t send profile, weight or health data. Details are in section 6a of the privacy policy.

What works without AI?

Even without Apple Intelligence and without an API key, you can use all of Logify:

  • Barcode scanner and database search (BLS, USDA, Open Food Facts)
  • Food tolerance: rate meals, log symptoms, see the analysis
  • Fasting, water, statistics, streaks, Apple Health and Apple Watch

If you’d like AI estimates without Apple Intelligence, add your own API key.
